启蒙园<圆圆班>的小朋友们迎来了人生中的第一个“毕业典礼”！记得孩子们刚入园时，一张张懵懵懂懂的可爱模样、一副副眼泪汪汪的可怜表情，都让老师们历历在目。
The children of the Enlightenment Garden have today experienced the very first graduation of their lives! We remember all the cute and forlorn faces from their first day to their last joyful one.
入秋后，伴随着早晚的天气逐渐转凉，小朋友们对毕业季的到来却是热情高涨！在即将进入到一个新环境、新开始的时刻，请家长朋友们跟着我们一起来了解一下小朋友的心理发展特点，以及如何帮助小朋友们更好的调整和适应。
As we enter the autumn season and children head to new kindergartens and graduate to new classes, it is an opportune time for us to take a closer look at their emotional development. What struggles are our little ones facing and how can we help them adjust and adapt to leaving their friends and entering a new school?
小朋友们自出生起，大脑就处于创造神经元的阶段，随之而来的就是情感发展。小朋友不仅要经历他们一天中不同的情绪变化，他们也开始认识到周围人的情绪。有时，我们发现小朋友容易脾气暴躁，这不一定是因为孩子淘气，而是因为他们不能表达自己复杂的情绪，如挫折、愤怒、内疚、羞耻等等。
Toddlers’ amazing bodiesare constantly busy creating neurons in the brain. With this comes the veryimportant step of emotional development. Not only do toddlers go through theirown emotions about each situation they encounter throughout the day, they alsobegin to recognize the emotions of the people around them. Temper tantrums area common occurrence, not because children are naughty, but because they simplycannot express complex emotions such as frustration, anger, guilt, shame,etc.
如果我们让小朋友通过发脾气，以一种安全的、非破坏性的方式来解决小朋友的情绪，都可以帮助他们学会自我安慰和处理情绪的。每当发脾气后，我们让小朋友冷静地说一说刚刚发生了什么事。再问他们一些问题，帮助他们理解为什么他们会有这种感觉。
Simply talking your child through emotional outbursts and even allowing them to work out their frustrations in a safe, non-destructive manner may help them learn to self-soothe and process their emotions. When the tantrum is over, calmly discuss what happened. And ask them questions to help them understand why they may have been feeling that way.
和小朋友对话时，不一定要说宝宝语，家长们不要担心小朋友听不懂我们使用的词汇，他们会理解你的意思。这也有助于他们发展对情绪的理解，因为他们可以开始将情绪与词汇联系起来。
It’s okay to use big words with little kids. Although they may not yet understand the vocabulary you are using, they will understand what you mean. It will also help them develop their understanding of their emotions as they can begin associating them with vocabulary.
除了这种重要的情感发展，孩子们也开始发展对抽象思维的理解，比如反义词或时间。和你的孩子谈谈他们的日程安排，“我们早上吃早餐”，“我们下午回家。”当你谈论你的生活时，和小朋友聊一聊他们看到的事情。重要的是，我们给了他们尝试的机会。
In addition to this important emotional development, children are also beginning to develop understanding of abstract thinking such as opposites and time. Talk with your child about their schedule, “we eat breakfast in the morning”, “we go home in the afternoon.” As you go about your life, talk about the things they might see. Talking about daily schedules and discussing children’s daily lives and the changes they will encounter during the beginning of the school season are beneficial for both the child’s cognitive development as well as parents’ peace of mind.
